Frequent questions

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Expirella, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases. You will find the same button at the bottom of the Pro screen. Make sure your iPhone is signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy Pro.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions run through Apple, so you cancel them there:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions and choose Expirella.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. A lifetime purchase needs no cancelling. Refunds are decided by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I export my data?

In Expirella, open Settings and choose Export. You get your deadlines as CSV (for spreadsheets) or JSON. The export is free, with or without Pro, also after a subscription ends. With Pro you can also export deadlines to your calendar and create a PDF receipt pack for warranty claims.

My reminders don't arrive. What can I do?
  1. In the iPhone Settings app, open Notifications › Expirella and make sure notifications are allowed.
  2. In Expirella's settings, check that reminders are switched on and the times suit you (by default 30, 7 and 1 day before and on the day, at 9:00).
  3. A Focus such as Do Not Disturb or Sleep can hold notifications back. Allow Expirella in that Focus if you like.
  4. iOS lets an app plan up to 64 notifications at a time. With many deadlines, Expirella plans the earliest 64 and adds the next ones when you open the app, so open it now and then.

Still nothing? Write to us and tell us which deadline it was about.

How do I move my deadlines to a new iPhone?

Expirella has no account and no server, so your deadlines travel with your iPhone backup. Set up the new iPhone from an iCloud backup, a computer backup or with Quick Start, and Expirella arrives with all deadlines and receipts. Open the app once on the new iPhone so it can plan your reminders again.

Tip: make an export before you switch, as an extra copy.

I deleted the app. Can you restore my deadlines?

Unfortunately not. We never receive your data, so we cannot restore it. If you have an iCloud or computer backup from before you deleted the app, restoring that backup brings your deadlines back.
